Lesley Kelly Biography
Kelly studied Ceramic Design at the National
College of Art & Design, Dublin, Ireland
between 1994 and 1998. After deferring prior to
graduation, then relocating to Cambridgeshire,
Kelly settled into 'normal' life, forgetting her
artistic leanings for a time. However, she
returned to her studies and set up a new ceramics
studio in 2003, following redundancy. Her
confidence grew once she secured a regular stall
at the renowned All Saints Craft Market in
Cambridge and began selling her work.
A trip to Perth, Australia, in 2004, caused a very powerful response in Kelly and on her return to England she began painting the series of paintings that became known as 'Womanhood'. As an Ovenden Contemporary Member Artist Kelly looks forward to new opportunities to show her unusual, inspirational work and we look forward to working with her over the coming months.
